Jean Monnet Chair for CRonEM Director

Prof Alex Warleigh-Lack, CRonEM’s Executive Director, has just been appointed as Jean Monnet Chair in Comparative Regional Integration Studies for 2012-15 by the European Commission. The €45,000 funding award, which is for a three year programme of work, will support Prof Warleigh-Lack's delivery of four modules in EU studies and comparative regionalism, and will also fund a three year project of outreach to local schools, media and politicians. The aim of this outreach work is to develop better information and understanding levels about EU issues in Surrey. The award is a recognition of the innovative teaching that is being undertaken in the School of Politics, and will help identify CRonEM as a venue for innovative teaching as well as research.
