Dr Helen Johnson (Director of the Professional Education Research Centre, University of Surrey Roehampton)
Dr Helen Johnson is the Director of the Professional Education Research Centre at Roehampton University of Surrey. She is Principal Lecturer in Education Management and Accreditation Adviser in the School of Education Studies. As a researcher, educator and practitioner she has extensive experience of leadership issues, at demanding academic, strategic and operational levels.
Her other research interests are voluntary sector schooling; citizenship education; teaching and learning in higher education; and education marketing in higher education. She researches from an organisational studies perspective, and is particularly focused on values, culture, roles, identity and managerial processes and their impact on organisational, staff and children's development. She is a highly experienced as a management and leadership trainer, facilitator and consultant in the fields of education, the voluntary sector and general public services management. She is an accredited NPQH trainer, has in-depth knowledge of this programme and other areas of up-to-date continuing professional development.
