What does the Panel do?

The role of the Customer Panel is to:

  • Develop good communication between Arriva, and staff and student passengers
  • Enable staff and students to voice concerns and ideas on Arriva’s bus services
  • Help in monitoring and reviewing Arriva’s bus quality standards, and developing new ones as required
  • Help with promotion and marketing of Arriva services to all staff and students

The Customer Panel will not be responsible for reviewing or amending any commercial aspects of the Quality Partnership contract.

The Customer Panel is not designed to deal with one-off individual complaints which will continue to be handled by Arriva’s Customer Services team.

Who sits on the Panel?

Members will be drawn from a cross-section of University representatives and passengers. This includes:

  • The Students’ Union VP Support / VP Community
  • Staff users
  • Student Life Mentors
  • The Transport Team
  • Arriva

Members will share their views constructively and have a desire to make a positive difference to Arriva’s bus services.

How does the Panel work?

The panel will be chaired by the University’s Director of Business Support, who will also provide a secretariat.

The panel will meet three times a year.  The chair will supply agendas and papers to the panel in advance of the meeting.

The panel’s work and discussions will inform the work of Arriva and be taken into account when decisions on routes, fares, service quality and service standards are made.

The terms of reference and membership of the panel will be open information, and placed on the University’s Travel and Transport web pages. The University’s Transport Team will publish a record of the issues discussed at each meeting on the University’s Travel and Transport web pages.

The panel’s meetings will be closed.
