Biography

I was born in England to Greek Cypriot parents, living mainly in South London. I am now serving ( since 2008) the parish of Saint Nectarios in Battersea which I have been a part of since I was 7 years old, this is a unique  and historic event for our Diocese but hopefully not the last. At 13 years old I knew that I was called to serve the flock of Our Lord and it took me a further 20 years from that day to accept it.

In this journey I have covered a few professions, my first being in banking as a futures investor dealing mainly with fixed terms and currency exchanges, after my national diploma in banking. I also met my present wife and married in 1990, informing her of this calling. She had the faith to jump on board having two children ( Pavlos 18yrs, Stefanie 16yrs). I then left banking and during this period of time, I embarked on a new journey, taking on a few practical jobs, allowing me and my family the ability to survive my return to education ( studied Eastern orthodox Theology and Dogma at Cambridge) to prepare for priesthood.

I have been very lucky to have also worked both as a lay and ordained person for over 7 years in education, two years in Secondary Education supporting students on IEP's accessing employment or Further Education and my last five years in primary in a pastoral role as a Learning Mentor. Now I am involved in Higher Education in my role as part time Greek Orthodox Chaplain to the University of Surrey.

I feel very blessed and happy in my Christian life and also feel very lucky to have this opportunity to share with many others this joy here at Guildford. I have to make you aware of my English sense of humour, being the age of Monty Python and Blackadder, but I'm sure you will forgive me this in time. I hope I can serve the needs of all those who ask and I might even to those who don't.
