What you can do if you have concerns about your own or another persons Mental Health?

For anyone at the University in emotional difficulty the first port of call is the Centre for Wellbeing, who offer counselling, drop in sessions and crisis appointments , call  them on 01483 689498 or find them in University Court opposite Millennium House. Contact with a Doctor is important too if you are worried.

If you have a mental health diagnosis you can contact Chris Ward, Mental Health Advisor based in the Centre for Wellbeing. He can help and support anyone suffering from any Mental Health issue.

He can help by:

  • carrying out mental health assessments
  • making regular appointments
  • co-ordination of care ensuring effective communication
  • give advice and support and refer to other agencies.

Websites such as Mind, Students Against Depression and the Mental Health Foundation have a great deal of resources to help you find out more about mental health issues. You can use the information in confidence but if you are ever unsure or worried about your mental health, please speak to a professional.
