The Code of Practice for Research Degrees should be read in conjunction with the University's Regulations.
The main aims of the Code of Practice for Research Degrees are:
- to ensure that research students at the University of Surrey are effectively supervised so that the full potential of their research ability may be achieved and their research completed within an appropriate period;
- to ensure that students and staff have a common understanding of their respective roles and responsibilities;
- to promote policies and procedures which protect the academic standards of the University's research degrees
