I-Lab: Multimedia Communications
I-Lab research activities are encompassing challenges of end-to-end multimedia communications. It comprises 4 academics, 9 research fellows and around 15 PhD students.
The research areas include:

• Speech and Spatial Audio coding
• Blind source separation and noise suppression
• Spatial audio and 3D video rendering for fixed and mobile systems
• 2D-3D video processing and coding
• Multi-view video coding and transmission systems
• Media Adaptation
• Media networking, network coding, cross layer QoS/QoE management
• User interfaces and interaction for fixed and mobile applications
• Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Business (QoB) measurement and modelling
