The Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing is seeking to recruit outstanding individuals for fully funded PhD studentships starting in October 2012. Funding is available for up to 6 PhD studentships in different areas.

As the graphics in computer games and films improve, what are the limitations when creating human figures? Why does our brain struggle to accept these representations as genuine human forms? Professor Adrian Hilton, a computer scientist and Dr Kristine Krug, a neuroscientist, will delve deeper into the challenges faced when generating computer models of humans.
This event is part of a series of the Café Scientifique events throughout the year, aiming to provide a forum for the debate of scientific ideas. It takes place on Monday 26 March (6.30 to 8.00 pm) at the Royal Society in London. For more information, please visit
CVSSP receives Honorable mention for Best Paper Award ACM SIGGRAPH I3D 2012

Congratulations to Dan Casas, Margara Tejera, Jean-Yves Guillemaut and Adrian Hilton who received the "Honorable Mention for the Best Paper Award" at the ACM SIGGRAPH Symposium in Interactive 3D Graphics and Games which was held in early March in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California .
