Biography

Hemantha Kodikara Arachchi received his B.Sc. (Eng.) degree with honours and M.Phil. degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 1997 and 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand in 2004.

Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the I-Lab Multimedia Communications Research Group of the University of Surrey (UniS), UK and a member of IEEE and IET.

Research Interests

He is specialised in video coding, video transcoding and adaptation, error resilience and concealment, multimedia communication networks and video encryption. He has long term experience with 2D and 3D video coding and their applications. He has published his research outcome in a number of reputed journals and international conferences. He has also contributed to a technical book and a number of technical reports.  Furthermore, he has been serving as a peer reviewer to a number of journals published by reputed publishers including IEEE, IET, Elsevier, and SPIE.
