Surrey Entrepreneurs 'Pitching 4 Projects' competition
Monday 17 December 2012
Some of the second year BA Acting students took part in Surrey Entrepreneurs 'Pitching 4 Projects' competition and were successfully awarded a grant to support the development of a new play to go to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2013.
Casey Jay Andrews, who founded the company HookHitch Theatre with other DramaUK students, updated us on their new play: 'This Was The World and I Was King'. "It is based on the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson's 'A Child's Garden of Verses' and inspired by the story of the Cottingley fairies. The piece will feature a live folk band and puppetry, as well as excerpts of Stevenson's poetry."
The project is also being supported by G Live Guildford who are providing the venue for the public preview performance in July.
Last year HookHitch took an adaptation of 'The Turn of the Screw' to The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and had a successful months run gaining 7 four star reviews.
