Year Three (Optional) Professional Training Placement
All students at Surrey are encouraged to take a placement year. In Theatre Studies, we would urge you to take up this opportunity, to be mentored and supported through a specific agreed project at an arts company or organisation. Through the PTP, you can clearly identify the connections between your degree and your specific career path. You can decide whether to take this year nearer the time and choosing to take or not to take the PTP year will not affect any application for a place at Surrey. Do contact us to if you have questions about the Professional Training Placement.
Year Four (Year Three for those not taking Professional Training Placement)
- Dissertation (part-practical or fully written)
- Research Methods
- Theatre Spectacle
- International Programme
Optional Modules
During your study, you will be able to take modules from Dance, English (including Creative Writing) and Film. The dance modules will include specialist technique classes and all optional modules will enable you to shape your own individual route through your degree.
