Music editor and sound engineer Chris Benstead has been named as the alumnus of the year for 2014 after a highly successful twelve months which saw him win both an Oscar and a BAFTA for his work on the blockbuster Hollywood film Gravity.

Hundreds of alumni and students from the University put their sporting prowess to the test at the inaugural event at Surrey Sports Park. Players took part in both competitive and friendly matches in 13 different sports, including rugby, football, hockey, tennis and fencing. After a great day of sport, the alumni teams reigned supreme overall.
