English Language support

The University of Surrey offers excellent English Language support for international students.

Pre-sessional English courses are available for students who do not have the required level of English to join a degree programme directly, or for students who wish to improve their skills before the start of their programme.

An English Language Support Programme (ELSP) is also freely available to all international students alongside their studies at Surrey. Surrey is also a registered IELTS testing centre.

The University of Surrey was established on 9 September 1966 with the grant of its Royal Charter, but its roots go back to the late 19th century.

The refurbished £13m Library & Learning Centre lies at the heart of the campus and offers state-of-the art facilities. 

The Students’ Union has five bars, three food outlets and its own 1,600-capacity nightclub.
