Our Professional Training placement programme is admired by other universities around the world.
Over 1,000 partner organisations work with us to provide students from all parts of the University with vital experience of the professional environment. What makes our Professional Training placements so good? They’re built into your degree programme, not bolted onto it.
Our campus hosts major national facilities such as the Ion beam Centre, which academics from other universities come here to use. These facilities allow our Award-winning researchers to change the world in important fields such as safe water, sustainable energy, communication, disease control and health.

All student accommodation rooms on campus come with personal belongings insurance and free broadband.
There are specially adapted rooms and flats for students with mobility difficulties integrated within general accommodation both on the Stag Hill and Manor Park Campuses. These have adapted kitchens and rooms with fully accessible showers. We also have rooms specially adapted for students with hearing impairments.

After their first year, students can apply to remain in University accommodation or find their own place to live in the Guildford area, with help and support provided by our experienced Accommodation Services staff.
Private sector houses and rooms are readily available in Guildford and range in price from £85 to £110 per week. The University also manages property in the town, which is let to students. Continuing students can apply for University accommodation but are not guaranteed a room.
