Discover the University of Surrey

We have some of the best new academic, library, sports, arts and accommodation facilities of any university in the UK, as well as one of the most envied Professional Training placement programmes in the world. This combination of prestige, expertise, resources and lifestyle is unique, and it’s all to be found here in the beautiful countryside of the Surrey Hills just half an hour from central London.

Careers workshops and advice

From workshops with leading employers to quick one-to-one CV clinics, we run a comprehensive programme of workshops and practical advice sessions to help you start your career on the right track.

Our main Careers Fair takes place every autumn and is a great opportunity to meet employers and speak to professionals who already work in the area you’re interested in.

Group employability sessions, to help you develop key skills that employers look for, run every week. Lasting an hour, the sessions include practical exercises that will identify your personal strengths and areas for improvement.

This is just a taster of how we can help you to find the right career.

Part of our work is about making students aware of just what possibilities are out there. If you’re struggling to decide what you want to do after your course, it helps to know what there is to choose from. With a bit of exploration you can find something you’ve never thought of, but turns out to be just right for you.
