Biography

Homi Katrak received a BA (Comm) degree from the University of Manchester in 1959 and an MSc (Econ) from the University of London in 1964. Before joining the University of Surrey in 1965, he worked as an economist for the Commonwealth Economic Committee in London. He has also taught at the Universities of Oxford and London. He has been a part-time consultant to the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, London, and is currently a research associate at the Overseas Development Institute, London.

He is currently working on a project, ‘Economic Liberalisation and Technological Development in the Newly Industrialising Countries’, and on a study of North-South Technology Transfer. He has published widely in the leading economic journals including the Economic Journal, Economica, Journal of Development Economics, Oxford Economic Papers and Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics.
