Research Interests

Joanne’s PhD thesis was entitled `A Further Analysis into the Economics of Racial Discrimination’ and was concerned with explaining ethnic employment and pay disadvantage, whilst paying particular attention to the qualifications and occupational differences between ethnic minority men and women. Previously she has published work explaining ethnic and gender disadvantage. Her current research interests include the economics of inequality, environmental economics, as well as the economics of education.
