Biography

Matteo holds a Bachelor degree in Banking and Financial Markets economics obtained at the University of Milan-Bicocca and a Master degree in Money and Finance from the University of Brescia. His doctoral studies started in 2008 at the University of Glasgow and in 2009 he moved to the University of Surrey to continuing his studies with Prof. Levine. Before starting his doctoral studies he worked for UBI bank group and during the years 2003 and 2004 he was a music teacher.

Research Interests

Matteo's main research interest is in macroeconomic theory and in particular the study of financial frictions and the banking sector in macroeconomics modelling. He is also interested in study the problem of fiscal and monetary policy (both conventional and unconventional) applied to these issues. He is also an active member of the research group on banking in macroeconomics at the University of Surrey which studies the impacts of financial frictions over the business cycle.
