Research Agenda

Our research agenda combines economic theory with mathematics and radio engineering to produce analyses of important, and current, issues in the allocation and use of a fundamental natural resource: radio spectrum. This multi-disciplinary approach means that economic models of consumer demands for new (and existing) technologies, under various pricing structures, are combined with relevant and realistic models of the supply-side for (new) communication technologies where the capabilities and constraints inherent in these models are correctly modelled.

Our present research agenda covers the following topics:

Spectrum pricing

Spectrum trading

Spectrum auctions

Estimation of spectrum demand

Welfare analysis of new telecom technologies

Network roll-out and access pricing
