During the last four decades the Space Structures Research Centre of the University of Surrey has organised four major conferences on space structures.

The Fifth International Conference in this series pursues the same goal of bringing together all those interested in these exciting structures. The primary aim of this Conference is to provide a working forum for the vigorous exchange of ideas related to the multifarious behaviour of space structures.

The three day Conference will include thirty-two paper sessions as well as poster presentations.

Papers to be presented at the Conference encompass studies into the analysis, design and construction of space structures such as:
Single layer grids, double layer grids, barrel vaults, domes, towers, folded plates, stressed skin systems, cable systems, membrane systems, antenna reflectors, foldable structures, tensegrity structures.

These structures have been constructed in a diverse range of materials notably: steel, concrete, aluminium, timber, polymer composites.

An exhibition of items related to the Conference theme from specialist contractors, consultants and manufacturers will run during the event. A list of exhibitors and a brief description of their products or area of expertise will be given to all delegates.

Throughout the Conference, facilities will be provided for poster presentations where Authors and Delegates can meet to discuss their work on display.
