The Worshipful Company of Engineers in their Cadzow Smith Engineering Awards for 2003 has judged University of Surrey student Alexander Fraser worthy of a Highly Commended Medal. The highly commended medal is only awarded when the second placed student engineer is of very nearly the same standard as the winner. We are very pleased that Alex has been successful in this competition which is open to students of all branches of engineering.

Alex, a former president of the Chemical Engineering Society and leading university archer graduated with the MEng degree in chemical engineering with Distinction in March 2003. He received his medal at a Livery Company Dinner hosted by the Worshipful Company of Engineers in the City of London in April 2003.
