English and Languages Research

The School of English and Languages has international reputation for interdisciplinary research, which cuts across literature, languages, linguistics and intercultural communication. The research environment of the School includes ground-breaking work in two research centres: The Centre for Translation Studies and the Surrey Morphology Group. We have research strengths in the English Literature from Medieval to contemporary, with pioneering research in women's writing, 19th-century literature and World Literatures.
