Biography

Catherine is currently working on the EU-funded Interpreting in Virtual Reality (IVY) project. This project aims to design and develop a virtual training environment with ready-made bilingual and monolingual materials where interpreting students can practise interpreting skills in a range of modes and where clients of interpreting services can learn about interpreting and find out about working with an interpreter.

Catherine has a first degree in French and Latin with First Class Honours (Royal Holloway, University of London, 2001), an MA in Translation with Distinction (University of Surrey, 2003) and a PhD in Translation (University of Surrey, 2008). Her doctoral research focused on the concept of voice in modern English translations of Ovid’s Heroides.
