Biography

Having completed my undergraduate studies in TESOL and Linguistics, my passion for languages has led me towards completing an MA degree in Translation. I was impressed by the sheer quality of teaching at the University of Surrey, and many of the skills I have gained during my time as an MA student has equipped me with the confidence to carry out an independent research. Currently, I am working on my doctoral research on a part-time basis.

Research Interests

My interdisciplinary research, situated at the interface of spoken/interpreted language and cohesion/coherence research, aims to make a contribution to the limited literature on the analysis of long vs. short consecutive interpretations. The study investigates how the different ways of delivering the target text contribute to or impede coherence, and attempts to assess the importance of prior-knowledge in providing textual means for initiating comprehension and sense. On this exciting journey of discovery, I am deeply grateful to my supervisor Professor Margaret Rogers and co-supervisor Dr. Sabine Braun for their invaluable support and guidance.
