The vibrant international city of Hong Kong is a great place to study on exchange and it can be made more affordable with a Scholarship for Excellence!  Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of China, offers fantastic opportunities for UK students to experience an education and culture where East meets West and to explore the rapidly-developing China region.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is funding a minimum ten scholarships for students in England to spend a semester or a full year at a university in Hong Kong for the academic year 2013-2014.  Each scholarship is worth up to £4,000 depending on the length of stay in Hong Kong. 

Criteria for Eligibility:

The scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis to candidates who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership and the potential to make a substantial contribution to the well-being of the international community.

Applicants MUST:

• be UK passport holders studying undergraduate courses in England.
• have already applied for undergraduate study on exchange at one of the universities in Hong Kong.
• have a good academic record with a GPA of at least 3.0 or equivalent.

        Students currently studying in Hong Kong are not eligible.

• Apply for a suitable exchange course and institution.
• Complete the Scholarships for Excellence application form (application period is 1 February 2013 - 8 April 2013) and submit to the British Council Hong Kong (email: sfe@britishcouncil.org.hk).
