GSA Christmas Cabaret comments from Professor Marie Breen-Smyth
Monday 17 December 2012
This morning I had the pleasure of attending the Christmas Cabaret at the Guildford School of Acting.
I arrived in a rush (as usual) with a busy schedule ahead of me all day and weary at the end of a long week and an even longer semester. Within minutes of arriving I was uplifted by the energy, talent, humour and creativity on the stage at the Ivy. The University of Surrey is very proud of GSA, and their show was a testiment to the camaraderie, teaching and training skills of the staff, the dedication and commitment of the staff and students and the hours of preparation work by staff, students, front of house, technical and production staff that went into preparing the show.
I left the Ivy with a spring in my step and a smile on my face.
A particular word of seasonal greeting to the international students and staff in GSA and other parts of the Faculty of Arts and Human Science. May I wish you and all the staff and students in FAHS a very happy holiday season. I hope that 2013 brings you even more success, recognition and fulfilment. My warmest thanks for all the hard work and cooperation I have met with this year, and I look forward to working with you all again in 2013 and inviting the Faculty to share in your festivities, and for making the festive season even more festive for all of us.
Nollaig shona daoibh,
Marie
