Welcome to the Association for Studies in French Cinema
The Association was established in 2000 by Professor Susan Hayward (University of Exeter, UK), and Professor Phil Powrie (University of Surrey, UK). The Association is one of the Arts and Humanities Research Council's recognised Subject Associations.
Subscribe to the Association here. Subscription to the Association carries a 50% reduction in the journal subscription and a reduction for the annual conference. If you would like to subscribe to the journal without subscribing to the Association, please do so here.
The journal is published three times a year, and is indexed in the Arts & Humanities Citation Index (Web of Science).
We have an annual conference, at which a range of prizes are presented: the Postgraduate Essay Prize in association with Manchester University Press, the Undergraduate Essay Prize, and the Susan Hayward Prize for the best article published in the journal by a PhD student.
The Association offers two annual Research Bursaries for early career researchers.
You can consult our list of recent books by members of the Association, recent PhD theses on French cinema, and there are links to some of the major websites concerning French cinema.
