Faculty Studentship Opportunities
The Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences is pleased to announce five fully funded 3-year postgraduate research studentships (fees and subsistence at Research Council rates) to start in October 2013 in the following areas:
- School of Arts: Cultural Production, Creative Practices, Dance, Digital Arts, Film, Interdisciplinary Arts, Music, Performance, Sound Recording, Theatre.
- School of English and Languages: English Literature, Creative Writing, Translation Studies, Modern Languages, Theoretic Linguistics (Morphology) and Applied Linguistics (Intercultural Communication).
- School of Politics: European Politics, International Politics, Political Theory and Political Behaviour, Political Participation, Citizenship & Political Psychology, International Intervention.
- School of Psychology: Cognitive Processes (creative thinking and decision making; Infant Colour perception); Environmental Psychology (sustainable consumption, environmental risks); Social Psychology (identity, history of psychology, religion and spirituality); Forensic Psychology (decision-making in the criminal justice system); Health Psychology (health and stress, eating and exercise behaviour, nutrition policy and interventions); Neuroscience (functional connectivity, representation of action) and Neuropsychology (sleep and cognition in neurodisorders).
- Department of Sociology: Criminology and Criminal Justice; Identities, Generation and Everyday Life; Media, Culture and Communication; Science, Environment and Technologies; Work, Organisations and Inequalities; Developments in Methodology.
Applicants must apply in two stages:
- An application must be submitted for admission to the relevant PhD programme by 1 February 2013 at the latest. Details on how to apply can be found here:
You must contact the School/Department before submission in order to discuss your proposal. - If you are offered a place, the deadline for submission of the Studentship application is 4pm, 22 February 2013; relevant documents can be downloaded from this page.
Some teaching and/or other research-related duties will be assigned as part of the Studentship.
Full studentships are only available to UK students and other EU students who have been resident in the UK for 3 years on 30 September 2013.
