Interested in studying or working abroad?

As a student in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences you have the opportunity to study or work abroad as part of your undergraduate degree.

Taking part in an exchange gives you the opportunity to travel and live in another country, whilst earning credits that contribute to your Surrey degree.

The Faculty currently has exchange agreements with Universities across the world. International agreements include those in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and South Korea. European agreements exists with Universities in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands.

In addition the International Relations Office (IRO) manage broad partnership agreements with Universities and Institutions overseas which also offer exchange opportunities to undergraduate students.

The University's Global Partnership Network (UGPN) launched in 2011, is expected to offer additional exchange opportunities in the future. The IRO also manage several summer school opportunities open to both undergraduate and postgraduates in some cases. For further information please visit the IRO website.

Erasmus grants are available for students who undertake either a period of study or a period of work abroad in Europe. The period abroad must be a minimum of three months and a maximum of an academic year (for study) or 12 months (for work). For unpaid work placements this can be 30 weeks.  For more information please click here.
