Interested in studying abroad?

As a student in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law you have the opportunity to study abroad as part of your undergraduate degree. Depending on which School you belong to you may be able to study abroad for one semester or for a whole year.

Taking part in an exchange gives you the opportunity to travel and live in another country, whilst earning credits that contribute to your Surrey degree. The Faculty currently has exchange agreements with Universities across the world. International agreements include those in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and South Korea. European agreements exists with Universities in Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands.

In addition the International Relations Office (IRO) manage broad partnership agreements with Universities and Institutions overseas which also offer exchange opportunities to undergraduate students. The University's Global Partnership Network (UGPN) launched in 2011, is expected to offer additional exchange opportunities in the future. The IRO also manage several summer school opportunities open to both undergraduate and postgraduates in some cases. For further information please visit the IRO website

Currently on exchange?

If you are studying abroad at the moment please remember to stay in touch, let us know about your experiences and keep us up to date with any changes to your learning agreement. The academic year runs from the 24th September to the 1st February 2013 semester one and the 4th February to the 14th June 2013 semester two. Please make sure you stay in touch with the Professional Training Team  if you plan on applying for a placement year. January is the perfect time to attend interviews and plan your placement if you have not made a start already.

We will be holding a de-briefing session in February to find out more about your exchange experiences. We also hope you will make yourselves available to assist in our information sessions for future outgoing exchange students in the spring semester.
