Biography

Anne-Marie joined the University of Surrey as Finance Manager in November 2000, in what was then the School of Biomedical & Molecular Sciences.  In February 2005 she was promoted to School Manager and held this position until December 2006, when the University undertook a major re-organisation of academic departments which saw the formation of four new faculties.  As a result of this re-organisation, Anne-Marie took up the post of Faculty Manager in the Faculty of Management and Law.  In April 2009, she moved to her current position as Faculty Manager in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.  

Departmental Duties

The Faculty Manager is a member of the senior management team of the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, responsible for the effective management of all non-academic activities, strategic and operational, of the Faculty.

Responsibilities include:
Working with the Dean of Faculty to develop and implement the strategic plans for the Faculty and its constituent parts; Manage the strategic planning process of the Faculty in accordance with procedures and timescales agreed with the University; Ensuring that the activities of the Faculty remain under strategic review in light of internal and external drivers; Ensure that risks – strategic and operational – are identified and managed appropriately; Represent the Faculty and the needs of the core activities of the University more generally at Institutional level and beyond in order to facilitate the achieving of strategic and operational objectives.
