Study and Research Skills
Training and Development
Training and development activities are an essential part of doctoral study. All of our postgraduate researchers undergo a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) so we can tailor their training and development programme to their own particular needs.
Training and development involves Faculty specific courses in specific I.T. packages, such as: Matlab, LaTeX, LabView and Maple; courses run by the Postgraduate Skills Development Programme (PGSDP) team within the University and courses supplied by external training providers.
The University is proud of its position at the top of the Graduate Employment League and its close liaison with industry. Its new business facing courses allow our doctoral researchers to bridge the gap between academia and business and make Surrey graduates highly sought after by industry.
