Research Interests
My research has always concentrated around the area of non genotoxic carcinogens and in particular the interaction seen between the liver and thyroid. I am very interested to use techniques in histopathology and transmission electron microscopy to investigate changes seen. I am able to build on these strengths in my teaching at all levels by introducing students to the area of pathology through lectures, tutorials, practicals or during their research projects.
Teaching
I am Programme Organiser for the Modular Training Programme (MTP) in Applied Toxicology. The MTP is aimed at full time employees wishing to either update themselves in particular areas or to obtain a higher award. The week long courses centre around mainly lecture based material. However each module includes an interactive element and tutorials. This allows the delegates to become more familiar with the subject area and interact amongst themselves often using their own work based scenarios to problem solve.
I am also involved in teaching on the full time MSc Programme in Toxicology and at all levels of undergraduate teaching. I am module organiser for a number of the modules.
