Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee
The Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee support and enhance the University of Surrey Learning and Teaching strategy. Our education goals are:
- Enhance the students learning experience
- Facilitate the development of collaborative enquiry such processes for learning to enable students to develop their capabilities as productive enquiries.
- Enhance professional training and the experiences that support the development of professional capability as well as academic capability.
- Facilitate widening access policy of the University.
- Provide space, resources, opportunities and polices to encourage, support and enhance professional training.
The Faculty Learning and Teaching Committee (FLTC) is committed to the development and strategic planning for learning and teaching within the Faculty and to ensure that academic standards are maintained.
The Faculty is committed to the University’s vision and strategic framework 2010-2017 and the six strategic imperatives:

- Professionalism
- Sustainability
Each of these 6 strategic imperatives is embedded in the Learning and Teaching strategy to ensure that the University strives for:
- Excellence in Learning, Teaching, enhancement and the student experience.
The learning and teaching platform aims to promote:
- Academic portfolio and curriculum provision
- Internationalisation
- Assessment
- New technologies
This committee will work towards improving these for our students and staff; I encourage everyone to feel free to feed into the committee via the membership to allow FHMS to continue to maintain and improve on its international reputation for high quality and innovations in teaching. This is delivered by staff committed to providing an outstanding student experience.
