The Med-Vet-Net Association is pleased to announce that it will be holding its fifth scientific conference entitled ‘One Health: Zoonoses Emerging Threats’, 27 - 29 June 2017, at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Surrey, Guildford, UK.
The Med-Vet-Net Association was officially launched in October 2009 from the EU FP7 Med Vet Net Network of Excellence. This self-funded Association currently comprises 19 scientific partners, the majority of whom are founding partners, representing National Medical and Veterinary Institutes from 14 EU member states.
The Association has a focus on integrating human health and food/veterinary sectors and plays a central role in increasing and disseminating scientific knowledge on zoonoses, through cross-sectoral collaboration, with the main emphasis on food-borne zoonoses.
Part of our mission is to host specialised databases and data/information-sharing tools. Med-Vet-Net Association has its own internal research agenda and funds internal Scientific Missions and Workshops as well as hosting its own international scientific conferences to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and expertise in order to support others in combating zoonoses.
This conference will be of interest to:
Public health, food and veterinary researchers working in the field of zoonoses. Med-Vet-Net 2017 will address a number of new and emerging threats under four main symposia:
- Epidemiological surveillance and outbreak control of zoonoses
- (re-)Emerging and neglected zoonotic agents
- Big data and digital information
- Antimicrobial resistance
Conference content will be posted here shortly.
