  • carries empirical studies concerning ethical and legal issues, conceptual analyses of modes of thought in health care, comparative and cross-cultural studies
  • analyses official documents and codes of conduct from statutory bodies, professional organisations, government departments and health authorities
  • focuses on political and policy issues as they affect the health care professionals
  • has a special interest in the accountability of the professions vis-a-vis management, inter-professional relations, patient rights and welfare
  • examines topical issues and news items
  • debates contentious issues in specific fields of care
  • discusses connections between ethical and legal issues
  • deals with issues of politics, gender, the environment of care, management and administration
  • also covers issues of spiritual care and philosophy of care

Nursing Ethics features commissioned and non-commissioned articles, case studies, codes and declarations, news items, book reviews, comments, correspondence and notices of meetings, events and conferences. All articles are anonymously refereed.
