Research at the International Centre for Nursing Ethics
A core element of ICNE activity is to initiate research in nursing ethics and to collaborate with colleagues on funded international and national research projects. ICNE is concerned with empirical research and philosophical and theoretical work relating to ethics in all aspects of nursing practice, management, education and research.
The journal Nursing Ethics, based in ICNE, is a vehicle for the dissemination of nursing ethics research across the global nursing community.
Current themes of ICNE research and scholarship include:
- Understanding and responding to unethical nursing practice;
- Empirical and philosophical dimensions of dignity in care;
- Virtue-based ethics as applied to health and social care; and
- Ethics and cultural diversity.
