Department's Research into operation cancellations covered by the Mail Online

Monday 17 September 2012

Research by Professor Simon Jones and Dr Graham Cookson (Kings College, London) was recently covered by The Mail Online. This research, published in the journal Health Economics found that patients from poorer backgrounds and ethnic minorities were more likely to have their operation cancelled than other sectors of the population. Professor Jones recently joined Prof Simon de Lusignan in the Clinical Informatics and Health Outcomes Research Group. His hospital data expertise is complimentary to its previous focus on primary care and mental health data and consolidates the group's capability to conduct research across the increasingly integrated health space.
