FHMS Service User Group

The Faculty Service Users Group is a partnership involving researchers, academics and service users.

The first meeting of the service users steering group took place on 22nd September 2011. Professor Karen Bryan started the meeting by talking about the work of the faculty in relation to research and education.  Following this there was a workshop to explore how academic staff and service users can work together.   One of the outcomes of the workshop is the powerpoint presentation which shows how the service user partnership wishes to proceed.

Aim of the service user group
To build collaborative links between academic staff within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and service users.  To facilitate the involvement of service users in  the education of students of different health care and science disciplines and in the research activities of the faculty.

Objectives
• To recruit service users and share information about activities and events related to health, healthcare and research.
• To meet twice a year to discuss and monitor involvement activities
• To explore innovative ways of involving service users in education, assessment, career development and research
