The Ted Adams Awards for Excellence in Practice

The Ted Adams Trust makes awards to promote and recognise clinical excellence for final year undergraduate students, including the Diploma in Higher Education, in Nursing Studies and Midwifery Studies at the University of Surrey in Guildford. Students are selected for their consistently outstanding performance in practice. Potential winners are nominated by their mentors in clinical practice placements and assessed on key aspects of performance that exemplify clinical excellence. Awards are determined by a panel chaired by a Professor of Nursing.
Ted Adams Trust are now offering funding prizes for:
1) Diploma and BSc Nursing
2) BSc Midwifery long and short courses
These awards will be be of a monetary nature as detailed below:
September intakes
Adult Branch - 2 prizes of £300 and 2 runner up prizes of £150
Child Branch - 1 prize of £300
Mental Health - 1 prize of £300
Midwifery - 1 prize of £300 and 1 runner up prize of £150
March intakes
Adult Branch - 1 prize of £300 and 1 runner up prize of £150
Nomination criteria - Students are nominated by their mentors in practice, these mentors must have mentored you in your final year. Single nominations will be considered. You can obtain a nominations form via ULearn, which you will need to submit to 2 mentors of your choice. Forms must be returned by 4.00pm Friday 13th July 2012. The award panel reserve the right not to award all of the prizes and to allocate the prize money differently amongst groups.
The awards will be presented at the University's Annual Award ceremony.
