Biography
I have had a varied career as an Adult Nurse spanning over 20 years. My background has included Acute Medicine, Critical Care Outreach and Practice Development. During the last 7 years I have specialised in cancer care; working as a Ward Sister in Haematology and Oncology and for Macmillan in the Central South Coast Cancer Network undertaking project work. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in a number of strategic initiatives locally and nationally in support of improvements to the delivery of patient care. There are two common themes in relation to my career to date; Developing innovative ways of working and influencing practice by teaching and facilitating. Within my role as a Cancer Tutor I continue to work at my local Cancer Centre in the Chemotherapy unit in order to maintain my clinical skills and keep updated.
