Biography
I have worked in health visiting and children’s nursing for most of my career, both in the UK and abroad. I have developed an interesting in anti-bullying and using web based media for learning and teaching activities.
I have been able to undertake project work with the Strategic Health Authority, scoping the views of practitioners about the future of community nursing and evaluating the education needs of the public health practitioners. I have also worked as a Senior Workforce Manager as a secondment to the SHA, working to develop the practice learning environment.
Research Interests
My current research interests are cyber bullying, working with EU partners to produce a manual for trainers for anti-bullying activities. I am also involved in an EU project to use Second Life as a medium for learning and teaching for anti-violence.

Teaching
I teach on a range of modules at both pre-registration and post registration levels. At pre-registration I am involved in all the child branch modules. At post registration I teach on Leading Empowered Partnerships, Working in Empowered Partnerships, Public Health Assessment, Safeguarding Children, Skills for the Children’s Workforce, Chronic Disease Management and the undergraduate and post-graduate research modules
