Biography

Molly Courtenay is a Professor of Clinical Practice: Prescribing and Medicines Management. She is a qualified nurse with a background in Intensive Care. Molly moved to Surrey from the University of Reading where she worked as a reader and later a professor. Molly’s main research interests are in the area of non medical prescribing.

Molly currently works with several national groups and organisations on issues surrounding prescribing and medicines management. She undertook a secondment with the Royal College of Nursing between 2003-2008, where she worked as the Joint Prescribing and Medicines Management Adviser. Molly is the Chair of the Nurse Prescribers’ Advisory Group and a validation board member of Clinical Knowledge Summaries. She has a Nominated Seat on the Science and Research Working Group, Diabetes UK.

Molly has published widely in peer reviewed journals, and has held research grants from a variety of funding sources. She is the author/editor of eight books in the field of prescribing and medicines management.
