BSc (Ord) and BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice

This innovative and contemporary programme develops existing healthcare roles and practice through specialist pathways, underpinned by a lifelong learning philosophy. The advancement of cutting-edge, evidence-based practice is reflected through out the teaching and learning process, enabling students to remain at the pinnacle of twenty-first-century healthcare. The programme is divided into pathways and is suitable for those working in secondary care, from many healthcare disciplines. Pathways are available in: 

  • Acute Care
  • Cancer Care
  • Emergency Care
  • Intensive Care

In addition, there is a non-endorsed pathway for those working in other disciplines. This flexible programme enables you to develop and advance knowledge and clinical skills that have been mapped to national standards in your chosen area of specialist practice. They will develop your skills in patient assessment, decision making, leadership and clinical practice. If undertaking a BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice, you will also have the opportunity to develop your research skills by undertaking a research project. A pathway leader who is a member of the academic staff with the appropriate expertise will act as a personal tutor to support you. This support will provide a comfortable and safe educational environment to enable you to reflect upon key learning points that link to your personal and practice development.

Typical entry requirements

Minimum of one year’s professional practice including recent experience in the area of specialist interest.
