Meet and Greet 2012 for EU and International Students who arrive after the Orientation Programme on Sunday 23rd September

To make sure that you feel welcome and comfortable about coming to the University of Surrey the International Student Office has prepared a free of charge Meet and Greet airport pick up for you. The application forms are now available!
Meet and Greet for EU students and those International Students who arrive after the Orientation Programme will take place on:
Saturday 22 September from 7am to 9pm
Sunday 23 September from 7am to 9pm
If you are an EU student and you wish to be picked up from Heathrow or Gatwick airports or an international student (non EU) and you wish to arrive after the Orientation Programme please complete the Meet and Greet Airport Pickup form.
*Please remember that you must have booked a flight to the UK before you apply for the airport pickup.
*All International and EU students must also have booked University accommodation (if required) before applying for the Meet and Greet and Orientation Programme.
Please remember that the University does not supply bedding. If you wish to purchase a bedding pack (duvet, pillow, sheet, duvet cover and pillow case) to be in your room on arrival you may order one from store.surrey.ac.uk
Alternatively you may provide your own bedding.
*When you submit your booking form you will receive an on-screen message which will confirm that we are going to meet you at the airport. You cannot save this message but we can assure you that we will wait for you at the airport.
We will contact you again via email about 1 week before your arrival as confirmation. In the email we will explain exactly what you need to do upon your arrival at Heathrow and Gatwick.
If your flight details change you will need to make the changes on the Meet and Greet Update Form.You do not need to email the International Student Office in order to inform us about changes.The Update Form will be also available here from the beginning of July.
At Heathrow and Gatwick airports we will meet and greet a large number of newly arriving students. From Heathrow we will transport you directly to the University by specially arranged buses. Our Welcome Team will be waiting for you at the arrival gate. Please stay in the arrivals area and look out for one of our Welcome Team members. These helpers will wear dark blue t-shirts with "University of Surrey" written on them front and back.
From Gatwick airport you will be taken to a train by a Meet and Greet helper. The train will take you to Guildford Station. We will explain what to do at Guildford station in the email which we will send to you before your travel.
You don't need to pay for the Airport pickup or for the Orientation Programme activities as these are free of charge.
Some of you may be accompanied by relatives. Unfortunately seats on the minibus are limited and we can only guarantee a place for Surrey students. However if you let us know in advance (you can book a pick up for your relatives in the Meet and Greet application form )how many relatives will be traveling with you we will transport them for a small fee if there are enough seats available. Otherwise, they should be prepared to make their own arrangements to meet you on campus.
