Global Partners

Surrey has a unique approach to developing partnerships with selected international institutions. The University's International Strategy is built on three types of engagement; Global Strategic Partnerships, Global Partnerships focused on teaching and research, and Mobility Partnerships.

Strategic Partnerships

University Global Partnership Network

The University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) is a new approach to partnerships, focusing on deep engagement with a small number of institutions across the world. These institutions are selected against a number of criteria including their areas of research excellence, research synergies with Surrey and with other institutions within the UGPN, their international ranking and a commitment to internationalisation. Current members of the network include:

Surrey International Institute -DUFE

The Surrey International Institute-DUFE (SII-DUFE) is a joint academic partnership between the University of Surrey and Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE). Established in 2006, it is now the third largest scale British higher education programme in China. The collaboration represents a new type of transnational approach, providing students from the UK and China with the opportunity to spend part of their degree at both Universities.

Teaching & Research Partnerships

Our international partnerships enable us to further enhance student and staff experience, increase our research impact and maximise opportunities for new teaching interactions with selected Partners across the globe.

Mobility Partnerships

We are partnered with over 80 universities and organisations overseas, enabling staff and students to incorporate mobility into their studies and academic careers. These partnerships also allow us to welcome visiting and exchange students from across the globe, thus diversifying and enriching the culture within the student body and across the campus.

For a list of our Student Exchange Partners, please follow the link or click on the Student Exchanges tab via the menu above. Erasmus+ Staff Mobility Partners can also be found via the link or the menu above on a separate tab.
