Academic Staff Professional Development

The University values the professionalism of its teaching staff and their commitment to continually developing and improving their own practice. Much professional development relating to teaching comes through the experience of designing, teaching and evaluating a module or observing and working with colleagues. Staff also enrich their teaching and students’ learning through their disciplinary research and scholarship.

The University provides many opportunities for professional learning and more specific training, and teaching and learning development projects like SCEPTrE Fellowships and Teaching with New Technologies Awards.
The Higher Education Academy Subject Centres also provide opportunities for discipline specific professional development
