My Library PIN

What is my Library PIN for?

In addition to a university registration number, all students are issued with a Library PIN.This 4 digit personal identification number is essential if you are borrowing books from the Library. Your PIN

  • secures your library account
  • enables you to check online which books you have on loan and when they are due
  • enables you to renew books online or via the 24 hour telephone renewals service (01483 689235) to avoid fines on your account

Please note:your Library PIN is quite separate from your network user name and password, needed to access electronic material and your university email account.

How do I get my PIN?

New students receive details of their PIN in an email to their university email account after completing their registration.
PINs may also be issued with library cards to students who complete their registration on campus.
PINs can be changed online via the "My Account" option on the Library catalogue
If you have forgotten your PIN please contact DiLIS and we will email it to you with a reminder on how to change it.
For security reasons we are unable to give out PIN information over the phone.
