Using other libraries during your placement

  • Membership lasts for the duration of your placement up to a maximum period of 12 months
  • Check whether the library you wish to access has what you need on their catalogue
  • Check opening times and whether you will be able to access the materials you want before visiting for the first time
  • You are unlikely to be able to access another library's electronic resources

Inter-library loans (ILLS)

  • Check that you cannot access the item elsewhere
  • Check that the item is not on the University of Surrey Library Catalogue
  • Post the completed inter-library loans form to the Inter-Library Loans team
  • Please remember to sign the form and obtain your tutor's signature on the reverse
  • For article requests you need to include postage to cover the cost of sending the article to you
  • Books must be collected in person
