I have worked at the University of Surrey for 28 years in a number of roles. Prior to my present role as Information Skills Librarian (FHMS), I was an Academic Liaison Librarian both for the same Faculty and also for what was the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences. Before being employed by the University I held a wide variety of jobs including Computer Tape Librarian, Systems Administrator and Advertising Control Officer for the Newspaper Society.
My interests include education (including pedagogy), creative writing, publishing, medicine

As part of my role I give inductions each year to all new students at the university. I facilitate workshops and other teaching activities for students in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences with particular emphasis on teaching and learning in the School of Biosciences and Medicine and the School of Veterinary Medicine.
I am also involved with the Widening Participation scheme.
